Relaxed fit.
Kotona are men's cropped trousers built to feel like denim without being denim. The cloth is 100% cotton woven to a texture with some grip and some weight. It holds a crease and keeps the shape of the cropped leg instead of going soft after an hour.
The pockets open from the top, not the side seam. Small thing. Nothing falls out when you sit, and the line down the hip stays clean because no seam gapes open. The hem is cuffed and cropped just above the ankle, with a 120 cm hip at size M across a 98 cm length.
It is loose without being a harem cut. If you normally live in jeans, this is the easiest pair in the collection to start with.
Sizing
XS to 3XL. The chart lists a waist range at each size because the drawstring adjusts: 74 to 89 cm at M. Pick by hip and let the waist do the rest. The hip runs from 112 cm at XS to 136 cm at 3XL, and the length from 94 cm to 106 cm. Fits true to standard US sizing.
Fabric and care
Heavier cotton takes a couple of wears to soften. Machine wash cold with similar colours. No bleach. Tumble dry low and use a cool iron if needed.
How to wear them
The cropped leg shows the ankle, so shoes matter. Low trainers, loafers or sandals work. Five colours. Black, gray, brown, mocha and cream all come in the same cloth, so pick the shade that sits best with the shoes you already wear most days of the week. Cream with a navy knit is the summer combination we like most. Simple wins.

Opened the bag and the black looked true to the photos, not washed out or shiny. The pants feel heavier than I thought too, which is nice, but on me they hit a little higher than I expected so I'm keeping them for warmer days.

I'm 5'7 and the XS sits right where I wanted, a little cropped but not awkward. fabric feels soft and they don't look baggy in the knee like a lot of loose pants do.
