Loft is what keeps you warm
Loft traps air, and trapped air is the insulation. The fabric itself does almost nothing. A puffer works by holding a thick layer of still air against you. Compress one and its warmth flattens to nothing.
Baffles exist to stop that happening unevenly. They hold the fill in place so no section migrates and goes flat. Sit on an unbaffled coat for an hour and you lose the warmth exactly where you were sitting.
The coat, measured
At size M it measures 71 cm long, 112 cm at the chest and 80 cm in the sleeve. Sizes run S to XXL and it is shown on a 188 cm model, so you can read the drop against a real frame.
The water-repellent finish handles damp cold. Light rain beads and rolls off, and the coat stays wearable in weather that would soak an untreated shell. Wash cold and tumble on low, because gentle heat is what restores loft after a wash where line drying leaves the fill clumped.

Frequently asked questions
Why do puffer jackets have baffles?
They hold the fill in place. Without them the insulation migrates and you lose warmth wherever it moved away from.
Is water-repellent the same as waterproof?
No. It sheds light rain and damp without the stiffness of a hardshell. Heavy sustained rain will eventually get through.
Should I line dry it?
Tumble on low instead. Gentle heat separates the fill and restores loft. Line drying leaves it clumped and the coat stays cold.
