What the extra grams buy you
What the extra grams buy you
Weight is what separates these seventeen from a tee that goes translucent by August. Above about 250 g a knit stands away from the body and keeps a shoulder line through the day. Below 180 g it drapes on you and shows whatever is underneath.
The trade is heat. A 270 g cotton tee is a poor choice in humidity. It is the right choice for nine months of the year.
The spread inside the group
Chest at size M runs 92 cm on the Heavyweight Waffle-Knit to 128 cm on the Sand-Washed Heavyweight Cotton. Thirty-six centimeters is an enormous gap for one size letter, so read the number and not the tag.
Body length runs 66 cm to 75 cm and sleeve runs 21 cm to 78 cm, because the group holds both short sleeves and raglan long sleeves. Fabric is mostly 100% cotton, with one at 68% cotton and 32% polyester. Sizes run S to 3XL. Wash cold.
Lighter cotton and hooded weights
For lighter cotton in the same cuts see cotton t-shirts. For the long-sleeve versions see long-sleeve t-shirts.
For heavy knits with a hood see hoodies. Everything in tees sits in t-shirts.
Measurements come from the manufacturer's flat size table for each garment, converted to centimetres and mapped onto one size ladder. Available for 16 of the 17 garments here, last checked 2026-09-12. How we measure.
Frequently asked questions
What weight counts as heavyweight?
Roughly 250 g and up. The pure cotton knit here is 270 g. Past that point a tee stops following the body and starts holding a line.
Are heavyweight tees too hot for summer?
In real humidity, yes. Take a quick-dry or a lighter cotton for those weeks and keep these for the rest of the year.
How much does the fit vary?
Chest at size M spans 92 cm to 128 cm across the seventeen. Read the figure on the product page before you pick a letter.
Do they shrink?
Heavier cotton moves less than light cotton. Wash cold and hang dry and you will not notice it.
