Took a mirror pic after trying them on and they sit loose in a good way, especially through the thighs. I’m 6'0 and usually wear XS in fitted stuff, so these are obviously oversized on me, but that’s kinda the point. red pops more in real life than I thought.

Arrived folded up neatly and the red looked pretty close to the photos out of the bag. The actual pants are a lot baggier than I expected, though, so I should’ve sized down hard. Keeping them for lazy days, but not really what I wanted for everyday wear.

The red is much darker in person than on the site. More of a burgundy than a bright red. Also, the sizing is way off, I got 2XL and it fits like a small. Bit disappointed.

Got these in L, I'm 6'1" and they hit just above my ankles which is what I wanted. The red is a bit brighter than I expected from the product photos, but still looks good. Super breathable for summer. Wish they had side pockets though.

Fits relaxed but not sloppy on me, and the black color is deep enough that it doesn’t look washed out. I’m 5'11 and usually wear M, and this one just lands right on the ankle. easy to throw on with basically anything.

Where the shape comes from
Gelyu is the pleated harem cut that people often search for as sarouel, the older word for the same low, full trouser.
It is the roomiest pleated pair in our harem range.
How it is cut
Pleats at the waist open the volume, a dropped crotch carries it, and ribbed cuffs close it at the ankle. The fabric gathers, falls, then stops cleanly, so the shape never puddles over the shoe.
That closed ankle is also why this cut works on shorter frames, where an open-hem harem pant usually swamps the foot.
Fabric and care
A cotton and linen blend at 65% cotton, with enough body to hold the pleats open instead of letting them collapse against the leg.
Hand wash cold, no machine wash, no bleach, and line dry.
How to wear them
Keep the top half close. A plain tee or a fitted knit lets the trouser be the shape in the outfit; something equally loose on top loses the line.
Red, black or navy. If Gelyu reads too full for you, Pokku is the same family in denim with a tapered leg.
Choosing your size
Gelyu is labelled in US sizes, XS to 3XL, converted from the maker's chart, and the figures are the surest guide. The hip runs from 100 cm at XS to 136.7 cm at 3XL, and the outside length from 94 to 102 cm (waistband to hem, not the inseam).
The waist is elastic with a drawstring, so it adjusts; the hip does not. Size to the hip figure, and use MySize Assist above if you are unsure.
