Kotona is built to feel like denim without being denim. The cloth is 100% cotton woven to a texture that has some grip and some weight to it, so it holds a crease and keeps the shape of the cropped leg instead of going soft after an hour.
The pockets open from the top rather than the side seam. Small thing, but it means nothing falls out when you sit down, and the line down the hip stays clean because there is no seam gaping open.
Cuffed hem, cropped just above the ankle, 120 cm hip at size M across a 98 cm length. It is loose without being a harem cut, which makes it the easiest thing in this collection to wear if you normally live in jeans.
Sizing
XS to 3XL. The chart lists a waist range at each size rather than a single figure, because the drawstring genuinely adjusts: 74 to 89 cm at M. Pick by hip and let the waist do the rest.
Heavier cotton takes a couple of wears to soften. It will not shrink at a cold wash.

Opened the bag and the black looked true to the photos, not washed out or shiny. The pants feel heavier than I thought too, which is nice, but on me they hit a little higher than I expected so I'm keeping them for warmer days.

I'm 5'7 and the XS sits right where I wanted, a little cropped but not awkward. fabric feels soft and they don't look baggy in the knee like a lot of loose pants do.
