Roomy pleated harem silhouette with ribbed ankle cuffs.
Gelyu is the roomiest pleated cut in the range, and the one people mean when they search for sarouel rather than harem. Same garment, older word. The fabric is a cotton and linen blend at 65% cotton, which gives it enough body to hold the pleats open instead of letting them collapse against the leg.
Ribbed cuffs at the ankle. That detail decides the whole silhouette: the volume gathers, drops, then stops cleanly, so you get the shape without the puddle of fabric over the shoe. It is also the reason these work on shorter frames, where an open hem harem pant usually does not.
At size M the hip is 100 cm across a 94 cm length. Compact numbers for a pant that reads this full, because the width is built from pleating rather than raw circumference.
Wearing them
Keep the top half close. A plain tee or a fitted knit lets the trouser be the shape in the outfit. Layer something equally loose and you lose the line entirely.
Sizes M to 5XL. The waist is elastic with a drawstring so there is real adjustment at the top, but check the hip before you choose. If Gelyu reads too full, Pokku is the same family cut in denim with a tapered leg.

Took a mirror pic after trying them on and they sit loose in a good way, especially through the thighs. I’m 6'0 and usually wear XS in fitted stuff, so these are obviously oversized on me, but that’s kinda the point. red pops more in real life than I thought.

Arrived folded up neatly and the red looked pretty close to the photos out of the bag. The actual pants are a lot baggier than I expected, though, so I should’ve sized down hard. Keeping them for lazy days, but not really what I wanted for everyday wear.

Fits relaxed but not sloppy on me, and the black color is deep enough that it doesn’t look washed out. I’m 5'11 and usually wear M, and this one just lands right on the ankle. easy to throw on with basically anything.

I expected these to be a bit of a joke on arrival but they’re actually pretty nice. soft fabric, easy to move in, and the shape works with a plain black tee. Might grab another color later.

I went by the size chart and still ended up with more room than I expected, which is fine for this style. The material hangs nice, just a bit heavier than i thought. works better with sneakers than boots imo.
