Men's Embroidered Mandarin Collar Shirt, in detail

A mandarin collar shirt with embroidery worked into the front. Knotted fastenings run down a plain placket. The low stand collar sits close to the neck. A fine tonal pattern is raised across the chest.

A mandarin collar is a short band that stands up around the neck with no points to fold over, and it changes a shirt more than you would expect: it frames the face cleanly, it never needs a tie, and it looks deliberate buttoned to the top in a way a point collar rarely does. Neat. Quiet.

Fit and sizing

Relaxed, with long sleeves. Sizes run XS to XL. Take your usual size.

Fabric and care

Polyester with a dry, slightly textured surface that keeps the collar upright. Machine wash cold or hand wash gently. No bleach. Hang dry. Iron on low heat if needed, avoiding the embroidery.

Colours

White or black. The tonal embroidery shows up close on both and disappears from a distance.

How to wear it

Wear it buttoned with dark trousers. For a dinner, add a plain jacket. For a summer evening, roll the sleeves.
