Harem pants are defined by one thing: the rise is lowered, so fabric hangs below the seat instead of pulling tight across it. The trade is proportion. A dropped rise shortens the visible leg, so harem pants read best with the hem sitting at or above the ankle bone, and with something closer-fitting on top.
What makes them Japanese harem pants
The dropped rise is not Japanese in origin, but the way it is cut here borrows from Japanese trousers. Pleating at the waist gives the volume somewhere to start, and on Kireina and Gelyu the ankle is closed with a cuff, the same volume-above, control-below logic as the traditional work trousers. The five cuts here
Sokai is the one to start with if you have never worn harem pants. It sits in the middle of the range in every direction, in a midweight 50% cotton and 50% linen, narrower through the hip than Shinbo and heavier than Kireina.
Shinbo carries the deepest hip in the collection and the widest size range, S to 5XL. The blend is 30% linen with no stretch, built for heat, and the leg finishes slightly short of the ankle so it sits above a low shoe.
Gelyu is the roomiest pleated cut, in a heavier cotton and linen blend at 65% cotton that holds the pleats open. Ribbed cuffs gather the volume at the ankle, which is also why it works on shorter frames.
Kireina is the lightest, at 32% linen. Pleats at the waist and elastic cuffs at the ankle keep the shape deliberate, and it starts at XXS, the one to reach for if the rest come up big.
Pokku is the only denim harem pant, in 80% cotton denim with a tapered leg and cuffs that roll. It reads much closer to a regular trouser than the linen cuts.
Open, cuffed or rolled at the ankle
The hem decides the silhouette more than the rise does. A closed ankle, the elastic cuff on Kireina or the ribbed cuff on Gelyu, gathers the volume and stops it cleanly, so you get the shape without a puddle of fabric over the shoe. Pokku's rolled cuff lets you choose where it sits. Shinbo finishes just short of the ankle and lets the fabric move.
Sizing harem pants
Read the hip, not the letter. Gelyu, Shinbo and Kireina have elasticated waists with real room to adjust, so the waist forgives in one direction while the hip does not. Pokku is denim with no give across the hip, so take its hip figure seriously. Ranges differ: Kireina runs XXS to 2XL, Sokai XS to 3XL, Shinbo S to 5XL, Gelyu and Pokku M to 5XL.

Washing them
Wash the linen blends cold and dry them on a hanger. Heat is what shrinks a cotton and linen blend, and it does not relax back out. Pokku's denim stiffens after a wash and loosens again within an hour of wearing.
