Men's Indigo Dyed Cotton Noragi Jacket

Relaxed fit with extra room through the silhouette.

An indigo noragi, tied instead of buttoned. The front crosses over and fastens with a single inside tie. Two square patch pockets sit on the front. The sleeves are wide and three quarter length.

Heavy cotton, 380 g for the garment, is dyed deep indigo and left to fade at the seams with wear, the same way Japanese indigo workwear has always aged, so the jacket you buy today will look noticeably different, and more your own, after a year of wearing it. Dark now. Lighter later.

Fit and sizing

Relaxed, with a crossover front and wide sleeves. Sizes XS and S. Our model is 189 cm and wears M in the sample shot, so the cut runs roomy. The supplier gives a recommended size chart only.

Fabric and care

Cotton, dyed indigo, 380 g. Machine wash cold with like colours, inside out the first few times. No bleach. Hang to dry or tumble dry low. Warm iron if needed.

How to wear it

Layer it over a white tee with wide trousers. Indigo pairs with grey, cream and black. Avoid other blues near it so the dye stands out.

Will the indigo fade? Yes, gradually. The fading is the point of indigo, and it shows where the jacket bends and rubs.

At 380 g the cloth has real weight, so the jacket hangs straight and keeps out a cool wind. The square patch pockets are deep enough for a phone and keys. The single inside tie keeps the outside clean.
