Loose, boxy body with a dropped shoulder and wide three quarter sleeves.
A linen noragi in a textured cotton linen weave, cut straight and loose the way the field jacket always was. The collar band runs down both fronts, and the jacket ties shut with a single cord at the waist. No buttons.
The noragi started as the work jacket of Japanese farmers, made to be thrown on over other clothes and tied with whatever cord was to hand, and this one keeps that plain construction while using a cotton and linen blend, about 95% cotton, that stays cool and gets softer every time it is washed. Practical. Honest.
Fit and sizing
Loose and boxy, with a dropped shoulder and wide three quarter sleeves. Two patch pockets sit low on the front. Sizes run XS to XXL. The size guide gives hand-measured garment measurements, with the chest as the full circumference. Allow up to 3 cm.
Fabric and care
Cotton and linen, about 95% cotton. Hand wash or machine wash cold, inside out. No bleach. Hang to dry out of direct sun so the colour holds.
How to wear it
Wear it tied over a tee with wide trousers. Leave it open over a knit in spring. Grey goes with everything.
Linen in the blend gives the cloth its dry, textured surface and helps it breathe. Cotton keeps it soft and stable. Together they make a jacket you can wear from late spring into early autumn without overheating.
