Straight wide trousers under an asymmetric layered skirt panel, with a drawstring waist.
These male skirt pants put an asymmetric skirt panel over a straight wide trouser, the layered look of a hakama. A striped panel runs down one side. The fabric is 90% polyester and 10% cotton, in black.
Men have worn skirt-like garments in Japan for centuries, from the hakama of the samurai to the wrapped trousers of temple monks, and this pair borrows that silhouette for the street: from the front the overlay reads as a skirt, from the side the trouser leg shows, and as you walk the two layers move against each other. Layered. Bold.
Fit and sizing
Wide fit. Sizes run XS to L by height: XS for about 165 cm, S for 170 cm, M for 175 cm and L for 180 cm. Lengths run 85 cm on XS to 91 cm on L. The waist is elastic with a drawstring, and a fabric belt comes with it. Our model is 187 cm and wears M.
Fabric and care
90% polyester, 10% cotton. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, or hand wash cold. Hang to dry.
How to wear them
With a plain black tee and boots. Under an open haori or noragi. With a fitted knit so the volume stays on the legs.
Good to know
The belt sits over the elastic waist, so the fit adjusts without losing the clean line at the front.
Black keeps the layered shape readable. The striped side panel adds one quiet detail.
Wide skirt trousers suit most builds. The volume hides the leg line and lengthens the body.
