A phoenix sukajan souvenir jacket that reverses. One face carries a phoenix embroidered across the back in silver and gold thread, with a second phoenix and a tiger squaring off over the chest and cherry blossom running along the shoulders.
Turn it inside out and the jacket reads as plain black satin with navy sleeve panels. It is the rare sukajan you can wear to a dinner or an office on Monday and then flip to the full embroidered face for the weekend without anyone guessing it is the same jacket. Two moods. One jacket.
Fit and sizing
Relaxed, with raglan sleeves and a full zip. Ribbing at the neck, cuffs and base is striped navy on black. Sizes run XS to XL. Our model wears M. The supplier gives a recommended size chart only.
Fabric and care
Satin polyester shell. Welt pockets. Follow the care label. Turn the embroidered face inward before washing.
Why the phoenix
In Japanese art the phoenix, hō-ō, stands for rebirth and good fortune. Paired with a tiger, it sets calm against strength.
How to wear it
Embroidered side out, keep the rest plain: black tee, dark trousers. Plain side out, it works over a shirt.
Reversible jackets usually compromise one side. Here both faces are finished, and the striped ribbing works with either side out, so neither looks like the inside of a garment. Check the cuffs and collar when you turn it.
