A car coat for men, cut mid length with a light padding through the body. It has a point collar, a single breasted button front and welt pockets set into the seam. The cotton shell is dense enough to hold a straight line from shoulder to hem.
The car coat was designed for early open-top motoring, long enough to cover a jacket but short enough to sit in comfortably, and that length is still the most practical coat length there is: it covers the hips on a cold morning without catching on stairs, bikes or car doors. Practical. Tailored.
Fit and sizing
Tailored, mid length, single breasted. Sizes XS and S. Our model is 189 cm and wears S. The supplier publishes no measurement chart for this piece, so take your usual size, and size up if you want room for a heavy knit.
Fabric and care
Cotton shell with light padding. The coat weighs 560 g. The supplier lists it as water-resistant, wind-resistant and tear-resistant. Machine wash cold with like colours. No bleach. Hang to dry or tumble dry low. Warm iron if needed.
How to wear it
Over a knit with straight trousers and boots. Over a hoodie at the weekend. Buttoned to the collar on a windy day.
Good to know
The fill takes the edge off a cold morning without adding bulk, so the coat still looks slim and tailored.
