A kimono shirt that crosses at the front and ties at the waist. It is cut with a stand collar, a deep crossover and wide three quarter sleeves, fastened by a single tie inside the seam.
The cotton has a dry finish, so the overlap sits flat instead of bunching, and that matters more than it sounds on a crossover garment because a bunched front is what makes most kimono-style tops look like a bathrobe by the middle of the afternoon. Flat. Neat. Easy.
Fit and sizing
Relaxed, with a crossover front and three quarter sleeves. Sizes run XS to L. Our model is 187 cm and wears M. The supplier gives a recommended size chart only.
Fabric and care
Cotton with a dry finish. Machine wash cold or hand wash gently. No bleach. Hang to dry.
Colours
Blue, black and beige. Beige is the summer one. Black works year round.
How to wear it
Wear it open over a plain tee, or closed on its own with the inside tie. Pair it with wide trousers or hakama for a Japanese look, or with plain shorts on holiday.
Is it a kimono? Not exactly. It takes the crossover collar and wide sleeve of a kimono and puts them on a shirt you can wear every day.
The inside tie is the clever part. It holds the crossover closed with no visible fastening, so the front looks like one clean diagonal from collar to hip. Untie it and the shirt falls open like a light jacket.
