Short answer: for the original, buy Tailor Toyo, the Japanese maker whose company made souvenir jackets for American servicemen after the war. For vintage, Japonista in Japan lists hundreds of sukajan from about $127. For a new embroidered jacket under $150, KimuraKami starts at $84.99 and ours start at $59.90.
We sell sukajan, so this guide comes from a seller. Prices below were checked on each shop's pages on 29 September 2026.

What to look for
- Embroidery. Dense, raised stitching is the point of a sukajan. Look at close-up photos of the back panel.
- Fabric. Satin is the classic shell. Velveteen is the heavier winter version.
- Reversible or not. Many originals are reversible, with a second design inside.
- Fit. Sukajan are cut short and boxy, ending at the waist. Size up if you want room over a hoodie.
