Wide pants with a wrap skirt panel over one leg and a hanging belt strap.
This is the Japanese one leg skirt. A wrap panel crosses over one leg of a wide trouser, so one side reads as a skirt and the other as pants. A long belt strap holds the panel and hangs free.
The shape comes from Japanese designers who have spent decades playing with the line between skirt and trouser, and it works because the eye never settles: look from the left and you see a full skirt, look from the right and you see a plain wide pant, walk past and both halves move in different rhythms. Half and half. Never boring.
Size
One size. The drawstring waist adjusts from 66 to 115 cm. The length is 90 cm with a 44 cm rise. The hip measures 160 cm, the thigh 94 cm and the hem 50 cm. Our model is 189 cm.
Fabric and care
80% polyester and 20% cotton. It drapes well and keeps the panel crisp.
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, or hand wash cold. Hang to dry by the waistband so the panels fall straight.
How to wear them
Wear the strap loose so it swings. A black tee or a long shirt is enough on top. Boots suit the long leg. Keep jewellery minimal.
